I found that the Maywood Police department to be run in a very bias way. I tried to file a complaint against an officer (internal affairs) and was not allowed to and told that I had to be escorted out. Maybe being in a wheelchair gave the officer the thought I was not worthy of filing a complaint. I then got in touch with the Bergen Prosecutors office and was able to get a detective from Internal affairs from Maywood to take my original complaint and one against the officer who refused to take my complaint. After researching the law regarding filing an internal affairs complaint in NJ, it appears to be very easy. I think there appears to be a lot of favoritism among the staff. Having said that I felt the detectives that came acted in a very professional and honest way a true asset for the Maywood Police. Time will tell the integrity of the system

Does Maywood have a site? You find it! I tried for a half-hour to find when the pool opens and the hours of operation - without calling the town.
Why a such a small town needs 23 officers is beyond me! The biggest call they get is someone with a broken hip ! All getting 6 figures at that.
